Dear Friends,
What if we really believed that when we prayed according to His will our request would happen? Well we do believe that, don’t we? But being human, in our present situation of not being able to see things the way they really are in the spiritual realm, we struggle (at least I do at times) to truly believe that “faith is the substance of things hoped for.” But since faith is substance, maybe we should be thinking, “How can it not happen, when we pray?”
I had the experience one day when I was living in Israel of being in a gloomy mood as I walked up a street where a bunch of hard-faced street vendors were doing their thing. I was thinking pessimistically about how I could ever get the good news to them.
Then it seemed that possibly God got tired of my pessimism, and in one of the most surprising ways I’ve experienced, right out of the blue He just zapped me with the opposite thought. With no warning I abruptly started thinking, How could it not happen! The change was so sharp that I wanted to dance and tell somebody! Jesus was going to get the good news to these seemingly impossible-looking people! I didn’t know how, I just knew it would happen! And it will!
So how about a change in our thinking? What is too hard for Him?
“All things are possible to those that believe.”
“Nothing is too hard for Him.”
“There is no restraint to Jehovah to save by many or by few.”
“And this is the boldness which we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us: and if we know that He heareth us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of Him.”
Enjoy! And may your Christmas be bright with this truth!
