Love for Israel: The Land and Its People

One of the hallmarks of the Kingdom Christian Ministries is sharing God’s love for Israel. His regard for that part of the earth is made clear in Deuteronomy 11:12, where He describes it as “a land which Jehovah thy God cares for: the eyes of Jehovah thy God are always upon it from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.” In addition to this statement of perpetual divine interest, in many other scriptures He specifically calls that area “My land.” Since our love for God includes loving the things that He loves, we join with Him in loving this place which He chose: His land, and the city of Jerusalem which He calls “the city of the great King.”

Since the Kingdom fellowship began in the 1890s, it has promoted this love for God’s land and fervent prayer for the restoration of both the land of Israel and its people, according to the promises of God. This included multiple prayer and education trips to Palestine, groups of people living in the land in the early 1900s while earnestly praying and exploring, and support for various Christian organizations operating in Israel right up to the present. Many groups from our fellowship traveled to Israel to tour and pray in the 1970s and 1980s. In 2003 we leased a home in Jerusalem for a year, and many families and students lived there during that time, praying for God’s will to be fulfilled for Jerusalem and the nation of Israel. In 2007, planning began to establish a center in Jerusalem for prayer, education and hospitality. Many have had a part in bringing this vision to pass and God has provided a permanent location to continue this on-going work for God.
